It takes far more effort to be mean than it does to be happy, and we’re firm believers in the power of a smile, so we’ve rounded up some lovely acts of kindness to bring one to your face this week. Get involved and share your acts of kindness on social media with #GoshKindness.

1. Father raises over £40k after presenter shares his fundraiser

Presenter Jake Humphrey provided a surprise boost to Ross Coniam’s fundraising efforts after the sports reporter spotted a GoFundMe link printed on Ross’ jumper at a football match. After looking into the link, Jake shared more information on his Twitter account and within hours, the £3k total had jumped to over £25k – it’s now at £46,000. Ross started fundraising when his daughter Norah passed away just hours after she was born, he now wants to complete several challenges throughout the year and donate to charities that can support further research to prevent similar tragedies.

2. Boy helps elderly lady up steps

A young boy in the USA was captured on camera helping a lady up some steps after he spotted her struggling with her zimmer frame. A heartwarming tweet showing the moment has now been shared over 5,000 times.

3. Nurse leaves goodies for staff

A nurse in Derby left gifts and treats for the staff on her ward when she left for a new job. A colleague tweeted her appreciation of the kind gesture when she received the package, which contained everything from lip balm to biscuits.
