Sweetcorn stands by its name with a sweet, soft, buttery flavour. The firm outer texture of sweetcorn adds a little bite to the Bites (see what we did there), but the juiciness lets the Bites be soft overall.
Quinoa is a nutty and earthy grain used in many cuisines and has a taste similar to brown rice. Quinoa on its own has a subtle flavour however in these bites it gets turbo-charged by aromatics and spices, specifically harissa. Harissa originally hails from Tunisia and is a cornerstone of many Tunisian, Israeli, Moroccan, Libyan, and Algerian dishes. It’s a chilli paste made from dried chilli peppers (ranging from very hot to mild) that are rehydrated then blended with olive oil, spices and garlic; its sweet smoky flavour amplifying the sweetness of the sweetcorn.
